Along with Molly's Miss Victory costume I ordered another pair of saddle shoes. There was no picture on the website, but I figured they would not change what was pretty standard.

Noooooo! They completely changed the saddle shoes from the original very sturdy design, which looked like Bass' saddle shoes, to a soft design that can't hold a candle to the original ones. Sheesh, there is not even a difference between the left and the right! I am calling AG tomorrow and these new ones are going back.

The High Quality ones are also available on eBay from "2debsadorables" from whom I will be buying all of my dolls' saddles from now on.

If you need matching saddle shoes for yourself, I suggest going to Muffy's Saddle Shoe Store. She has an outstanding variety of saddle shoes in a huge selection of sizes.

Oh, interesting trivia tidbit: The first shoe design for which there were distinct left and right shoes were Mary Janes.

Thanks for the warning. I was actually going to order a pair tomorrow. Now maybe I'll have to reconsider.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I kept wondering what the heck you were talking about when you called them high quality. Mine are over a year old and are just like the "new AG" ones.

Wow the old ones are really nice! I may have to return mine also and keep an eye out for a PM pair.

They definitely don't look worth $8 . . . .compared to Kit's work boots or something, they are really lacking! Quality, quality, quality, that's what I want, AG!

The PM ones were fantastic. The "High Quality" ones are clearly differentiated between left and right.

I had never seen the PM ones before. I was disappointed in the new ones without knowing how good they COULD be, but seeing them together is just astounding.

Thanks for the ebay seller too. I just noticed she has lots of colors. I am gonna have to buy the pink and the halloween ones.

    I mentioned this before...

...but yes, I didn't like the current version of Molly's saddle shoes either. They were just too tight on her feet (I could see the back seams of the shoes getting stretched as I tried to squeeze them on), and I wasn't thrilled with the quality either. I actually went back to AGPLA this weekend to return those shoes. I went to the CS window to complain, and the lady there was sort of giving me a weird look while I was telling her why I wanted to return them (she was probably thinking, "Aren't you a little too old to be playing with dolls?" ).

But I got to return the saddle shoes in the end without any big hassle, and I decided to get Molly's brown oxfords as an exchange. At least the oxfords fit (phew) and they look all right.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Yeah, lots of colors. My dolls have red/white, navy/white, pink/white, light blue/white, green/white, black/white and the Halloween ones, too. Never can have too many pairs of saddle shoes...

They are perfect for both school uniforms and cheerleader uniforms.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I sooooooo want to believe that she wasn't thinking that. After all, her livelihood depends upon folks of all ages buying their products. She should be ecstatic that you were buying clothes for their dolls...

I just got the "new" AG ones. They are very tight and Molly has to wear them without socks.

Still- they are really cute, and since the "old" ones aren't available they'll have to do.
